2020-02-01 2020-02-29 America/New_York Touchstone Center for Crafts Exhibition

The Allegany Arts Council is thrilled to be exhibiting the work of some of the region’s premier artisans during its Touchstone Center for Crafts Exhibition.

Touchstone Center for Crafts is a unique three-seasons craft school located 60 miles southeast of Pittsburgh in the beautiful mountains of the Laurel Highlands. Founded in 1972 as Pioneer Crafts Council, Touchstone's original mission was to foster interest in the preservation of traditional crafts. Today, this unique craft school has expanded to include contemporary and experimental techniques in disciplines such as blacksmithing, ceramics, metals & jewelry, glass, drawing & painting, and special topic areas. As Pennsylvania's premier craft school, Touchstone offers beginning and seasoned artists 1-5 day workshops taught by some of North America's finest artisans.

More than 20 of these artists will have pieces in the show, which will run from February 1-29, 2020, in the Arts Council’s Saville Gallery. A public opening for the exhibit will be held Saturday, February 1, from 6-8 pm.
