Calling ghoulies of all ages! The Allegany Arts Council presents Ghoul School: Creature Creation with Jamison Odone--children's book author, illustrator and graphic novelist. Using cut out shapes, found objects, spray paint, and other materials, Odone directs ghouls in a step-by-step process for making unique creature paintings for Halloween. Dress for a mess. 


To register call: 301.777.2787. Payments for the workshop must be made by October 23, 2019 to reserve your spot. Seating is limited.

A professor at Frostburg State University, Odone’e work has been published by Penguin Random House, Front Street Books, Tilbury House, Boyds Mills Press, Atlas Obscura, Islandport Press, McGraw Hill, and many more. His next book, A Better Colored Halo will be published in the Spring of 2020 and is a graphic novel about the last months of Vincent Van Gogh. Odone has lectured and given illustration workshops extensively. Most recently MICA and The Society Of Illustrators in New York City.


Publisher’s Weekly had this to say about Odone’s book, Mole Had Everything: “Odone takes no shortcuts as an illustrator; each spread of Mole’s story is crammed with visual information--perhaps the most distinctive characteristic of Odone’s work is the narrow path he walks between Wind-in-the-Willows whimsy and surreal spookiness.“
