The Allegany Arts Council will host its 2018 Annual Members Exhibition from June 9-July 7, 2018. In its 17th year, the Members Exhibition features the work of current Allegany Arts Council members and is a great way to connect with members and see the artistry of local artists in our community.
The Annual Business Meeting of the Allegany Arts Council is also held during this month in which we recap the year's accomplishments and share vision for the next fiscal year. The Annual Business Meeting and the Members Exhibition are open to current members only.
2018 Members Exhibition Winners
#194 by George Radeschi
Congratulations to George Radeschi for winning first place in our 17th Annual AAC Members Exhibition! George recently exhibited his works in our Saville Gallery in March 2018 and continues to delight us with his creations.
Radeschi says, "This segmented wood-turned vessel, #194, is made with solid wood pieces each precisely measured and carefully cut to form a pattern. It is made of hickory, zebrawood and maple. All the colors are natural and the interior is finished to the same smooth patina as the exterior. I incorporated a carved design to bring another dimension to the turning. I hope each wood turning I create gives the viewer as much pleasure seeing it as it’s given me to craft it."

Summer Shadows by Wayne George
Wayne says, "Unlike most artists, I have no inner meaning to my work other than enjoying drawing or painting just what I see. I am a definite realist painter, conveying a subject so the viewer can look at my work and 'it is what it is.' I might add that at the age of 68, I have undertaken my very first art students. Many, many years ago that was my ambition after finishing high school; however, the draft, Vietnam, and a completely different path never seemed to get me there until now. I am still stunned by my award. There was so much talent displayed and I am extremely humbled."
